Stanberry Board of Ed discusses repairing floor of multipurpose room

The Stanberry Board of Education had their monthly meeting Monday.

Superintendent for Stanberry schools Bob Heddinger says though full data is not available, the district performed at a high level in annual testing. The board approved snow removal, retirement of Mrs. Amy Luke, and a renewal with their food service provider. The board discussed adding an H-VAC system to the gymnasium and repairing the multipurpose room's floor.

Heddinger says repairing the floor of the multipurpose room is important due to its heavy use by the school and community.

"The mulitpurpose room is like a secondary gymnasium that we have where we do our lunches and breakfast.  We have a couple P.E. classes that roll through there during the day.  It's a place where we can move recess inside on days there's poor weather outside, conditions aren't favorable to go outside.  It's also a room that's heavily used by our community for a variety of things from little kids' basketball, baseball, and softball, and cheer practices, and all kinds of church activities.  We have a couple of churches that use it during the school year for their youth activities.  So it's truly a multi-purpose room.  Like I said, it gets plenty of use.  The floor has seen better days and needs some attention."
